French jams set out to conquer the West: the jam manufacturer Andrésy Confitures accompanies its partners to the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco!

For French producers and artisans, the Fancy Food Show is an opportunity to present the best of products made in France on the American West Coast. It is the most important event in the food industry. You will find specialty, gourmet, ethnic, natural and organic products: More than 1,400 exhibitors from all over the world participate with more than 80,000 food products and beverages. The most influential buyers in the distribution channels for fine products go there, which makes it a privileged place for networking. Of course, products made in France are sought after and French jams have a special place on the list of buyers in the American premium hotel industry and distributors specialized in food service, catering or retail.

The jam manufacturer Andrésy Confitures was present at the 2020 event alongside its long-standing partners.

The French Farm stand showcased the Les Confitures à l’Ancienne (Traditional jam) brand: authentic French jams, in various individual or grocery store formats, with more than twenty fruits in the catalogue and honeys, powdered chocolate, teas and even condiments for a savoury breakfast.

Christelle Adriao, in charge of export development in the USA, explains why it is important for Andrésy Confitures to accompany its partners in the field: “French jam and American jam are very different. In France, the traditional recipe is balanced between fruit and sugar, cooked in copper pans, in small quantities, with cane sugar, from whole fruits carefully selected for their taste as jam. Our partners and their customers appreciate the fact that we are involved with them at appointments or trade fairs to help them develop our brand. »

American consumers and Food Service professionals are attracted by the quality and know-how of jams made in France. It must be said that there are many differences between French jam and American jam recipes! Christelle Adriao explains: “The HORECA buyers and the distributors I met at the last two Fancy Food Shows are looking for manufacturers of authentic jams, with real know-how and recognised expertise. They need individual formats to serve their customers at the table or as part of room service. In addition to the taste quality, our individual format provides a guarantee of hygiene and safety. They like traditional French fruit: apricot, strawberry, orange, blueberry.”

The manufacturer Andrésy Confitures, founded in 1952, is an expert in top-of-the-range jams and tailor-made products. It takes into account the needs of its customers and partners to satisfy a demanding clientele in 5-star and luxury hotels, air or sea catering, and delicatessens or shops specialising in French products.

“I regularly travel to the USA,” adds Christelle Adriao, “to cater to the many requests we receive for our individual jams. I meet with our partners and their teams to train and support them on launches or developments.”»

It must be said that both HORECA and RETAIL buyers appreciate the authenticity of Andrésy Confitures and its history as a small family business. They particularly value the jam manufacturer’s Private Label expertise.

Andrésy Confiture’s made in France jams perfectly meet the needs of American customers in 5-star hotels or Department Stores insofar as they are looking for authenticity and quality, individual jams, a wide range of flavours and formats, complementary products such as honeys, compotes, chocolate powder or condiments made using French recipes.
