Andrésy remains committed to a cause that is close to its heart: saving children from all over the world who suffer from heart malformations. This year, the company once again took part in the Christmas Market charity sale held to support the association Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque.

Supporting a cause against a backdrop of Christmas cheer

On 17 December 2017, the public crowded around stands run by 100 or so prestigious brands in a 1,000 sq. m area at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. Cosmetics, homeware, decoration, fashion, toys, sport, leisure and gastronomy… the thousands of products on sale had been donated to Mécénat Chirurgie cardiaque by its partners. A host of service providers and a team of 200 people had given of their time to prepare the event, provide the logistics, liaise with all of the stakeholders and run stands.

It was a wonderful day in a festive atmosphere, with the traditional Christmas tree, a photo exhibition, children’s games and a raffle.

Offering our know-how for children

Andrésy Confitures, which has been a loyal sponsor for four years, had responded to this year’s appeal by donating 400 jars from its Les Petites Parisiennes jam collection. “We feel touched by the work of Mécénat Chirurgie cardiaque, which takes charge of children with heart malformations who cannot be operated on in their home country. In France, surgeons operate on them free of charge, and families, partners and volunteers give of their time, their kindness and their support. We chose to contribute in our own way by donating some of our know-how,” explains Laure Cassan, CEO of Andrésy Confitures, adding: “We know that our donation is used solely for the children’s benefit.”»

Restoring hope to families

The money raised by the 2016 Christmas market funded operations for 12 children. Since the Mécénat Chirurgie cardiaque association was set up in 1996 by Francine Leca and Patrice Roynette, it has saved the lives of 3,000 children. Every donation counts: the average cost of an operation is €12,000. For 20 years, supporters have been combining their expertise and energy to restore hope to families who had none left. The association trains referral doctors in 60 countries around the world, receives and takes care of children before, during and after their operation in France, and monitors the children’s schooling once they are back in their own country.

To thank its sponsors, two years ago the association invited them to a magical show put on the Gruss circus, Pégase & Icare.“An opportunity to share in a childhood dream!”concludes Laure Cassan.
